Each local AVF offers through a volunteers’ group free welcome service dedicated to accompanying all newcomers providing them with advice and support in their new daily life and unfamiliar environment.
The welcome support generally includes the following:
Help newcomers rebuild a social network
Monitor newcomers’ needs in order to provide them with a service meeting their expectations;
Introduce them to their new place of residence and help them becoming familiar with their new environment
Welcoming new arrivals may also include:
Anglo-French groups for the newcomers to improve their conversation skills in spoken French ;
Meet over coffee parties to provide a convivial way for newcomers and locals to meet and discuss;
Share practical information through a series of meetings (in English) on everyday life in France and provide hints to address daily problems. Program is known as «L.I.F.T.» (Lostin France together)
