AVF (Accueil des Villes Françaises) Lyon-Rhône exits to welcome you whose objective is to facilitate your installation in your new city.

Present in the districts of Lyon but also in the town of Saint Didier au Mont d’Or, 9 teams welcome you near your home.

Some figures: in 2018/2019, there were 952 members including 169 New Arrivals and more than 170 volunteers.

Founded in Lyon in 1967, the association only exists thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of its members, all being volunteers.

In the 1960s, we witnessed the development of the decentralisation France, which provides greater mobility for families. This results in the creation of mobility support groups in many cities. It is for this purpose that Rhône AVF Accueil was created in 1967 under the leadership of Janine BURLE before becoming AVF.

Since the creation of our association, a member of the Union Nationale des Accueils des Villes Françaises (UNAVF) network, 17 Presidents have succeeded one another:

1967 – 1973 Janine BURLE (Fondatrice) 2002 – 2004 Scarlett de CARBONNIERES
1974 – 1977 Mme de ROCCA SERRA 2005 – 2007 Madeleine MONNIER
1978 – 1980 Aliette FEUGA 2008 – 2010 Colette VIDALAT
1981 – 1983 Françoise GIBERT 2011 – 2013 Pascale BIDOLI
1984 – 1986 Annette WINCKLER 2014 – 2016 Florence LAPLANE
1987 – 1989 Claude FLORES 2016 – 2017 Jacqueline THOLOZAN
1990 – 1991 Michèle GRAND 2017 –  Monique MARCEL
1992 – 1994 Anne-Marie PONCET
1995 – 1998 Michèle LONG
1999 – 2001 Myriam LAFON

In the spirit of the National Charter, to which AVF Lyon-Rhône has always remained faithful, our association has adapted to the evolution of its environment by creating specific groups according to its various members:

  • 7 local teams in the Lyon districts and Monts d’Or
  • 1 international team to welcome people from abroad
  • 1 team Evenings and Weekend for non-retired members

The association AVF LYON-RHÔNE, chaired by Monique Marcel since February 2017, has today more than 1,200 members including about 200 Newcomers.

This Association is managed exclusively by volunteers and has always maintained its original vocation: to create bonds of friendship and mutual assistance between all the new arrivals from    to the Lyon area.
